This is just a few miles from my parents in Cheshire.

I'll let the pictures do the talking, just to say the inside isn't what you would be expecting.
Must be a footballer!

erm. Wow.
There is a very nice house under that.

If it was redecorated and in the home counties it would be lovely.
well redecorated certainly. However Cheshire is actually a nice county. It gets a very bad rap and isn't all rich tasteless tts. The country has a lot of those overall.

Sorry, I wasn't insinuating Cheshire is bad (I have never been there).

I was just assuming a house would need to be closer to London (commutable) to count as true "property prawn".

southerners do tend to do that. Don't worry, we're used to you and we don't let it wind us up wink

That's a 737 with 2 extra engines painted on nerd

Probably did it because the 747 wouldn't fit that low roof line smile

Does that count as Godalming? Great position, plus you can get to be one of those people who moves in and then complains about the noise from Dunsfold.
No noise from Dunsfold around here (I'm within a few miles of that plot above), you'd have to have superhero hearing, or a separate issue wink as Godalming is about 10km from Dunsfold.
Ah I wondered how they might build something that HUGE in that area, seems it was an old brickworks:

http://www.derelictmisc.org.uk/industrial/nutbourn...

And looking at the Google Earth aerial picture, that had been taken after groundworks begun, you can see the main house staked out. (IIRC they re-did the pics here (Farnborough) very recently.)

And lots of Artex and low ceilings. What is it with low ceilings? It just makes the place look cramped & cheap.

Not only that, and I agree low ceilings and artex are dreadful but they build rooms like corridors. That lounge is so long and thin it's like a station waiting room! You'd all be lined up along one wall biggrin

Yes. Brochure on here - http://search.knightfrank.com/krd110831

It was originally on for £75m so it's had a £40m reduction since going to market.

Agree, it needs a compete re-fit; wooden dado rails, Mahogany doors, the most awful Artex ceilings, awful tiles in the bathroosm etc. all about 25-30 years old. Plus the loft hatch in the master bedroom would drive me mad, it would have to be moved to a corridor.

They're actually two almost identical houses....developer knocked down one of the old houses and put two 20,000 sg ft gangster mansions on the plot. They are literally about 10 ft from each other. Wonder if the other one sold for near asking ?!?!

Avenue Road is a really busy road but has a lot of "statement" houses on it....Israeli Ambassador lives a few doors up.

Looking at google maps aerial the constructions looks the same, is that identical (mirrored) garage lifts I can see? - https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=avenue+road+st+jo...

Never seen any details for the bare brick 1st floor one. Maybe the developers own place?

Suspension lifts are what you need for Avenue Road. Never-ending speed bumps.
