Whilst I always applaud people for their achievements, this is a damned depressing thread for us peasants!

Indeed!

No point putting a picture up of my heavily overlooked pokey apartment with views of a car park and a road.

I would have said the same some years back and Im miles off some of the chateaus on here but things do change, maybe youll surprise yourself in a few years time or so. Then on a forum that attracts owners of cars I can only dream of you should expect a reasonable pad too.

That said Id like to see a thread - cheap house, bling car. There is an R8 round the corner from me in a tatty 3 bed house worth probably twice his car!

Absolutely correct - we have a grandson older than some PHers, and are still in gainful employment wink Give it time!

As said before, not many people will post their two bed terrace on here for fear of being looked down on.This site is somewhat elitist as well mind.

...which is a shame really, as some of the more 'normal' houses on this thread have been the most interesting/charming smile

If that's true, it's both sad and pathetic. The thread title is, essentially, 'show us your house'. Anyone that reads that as 'only post if you have an impressive house' is an idiot. All houses are welcome, and no-one is 'looking down' on anybody.

Indeed, I was as proud of my first flat as I am of the house I move into in 10 days. Its just different times, different budgets etc

Just the fact you're calling people idiots doesn't come across well.
Whether you like it or not 95% of the houses on this thread are not your average and come across as Willy waving. But then this isn't what I'd call your average persons site,it does seem to attract the more affluent.

Lol, I posted a 240k bungalow a few pages back. If someone isn't proud of their bricks and mortar, I'd suggest the problem lies with them rather than a thread of "elitists" on PistonHeads!

I think the deposits needed these days are a bit of a problem. We are paying a huge rent for the place we live in, and we don't do that badly compared to other people our age, but it's still not easy to save the money needed as well.

We're buying a house further North which would cost a fortune down here and even more in the part of Hampshire I grew up in... It's the only way I can justify it really, I know it's good to get on the ladder and can work up, but I can't justify spending 200+ grand on a pokey two up two down terrace with no drive and tiny garden. It's not good value for money in my mind. I'm quite jealous of my dad who's mortgage is less than my car insurance laugh

I tend to find people with an inferiority complex, are inferior.

Can you not show your house or car without willy waving these days? Think you're taking the thread the wrong way. I enjoy seeing all of these houses.

It's not like someone has started a thread about their house stating how it's better than yours and boasting at every chance. Just purely a picture or two. No mention of price.

I would say the opposite and that for a site with so many alleged wealthy people there is a lot of dross on here with expensive cars on the drive...mine is dross without any car on the drive!

Obviously there are exceptions but I don't read it as - only post if you have a Knight Frank show home - thread title.

That's pretty cool. Is it a converted factory?
