I don’t know if the OP is aware that male rats are ludicrously well endowed in the testicular department; that would certainly settle the question. It just seems unlikely that a female would be “huge” - generally speaking they’re not.
She had a very visible series of nipples

Victim number 2.

One of the young rats this time. Wife reckons there was the female adult and 4 young.

We think they have ran out of food sources in the garden therefore are having to investigate whats in the trap.

Baited my trap with Nutella also.

I think part of the problem now for me is that there are other natural food sources around the garden such as berries grubs etc OR they have identified another food source beside our garden meaning the remaining rats don't need to take a risk entering the trap.
