Flue sweeping - how much?
Discussion
I've just paid £50 today for mine to be done in a just bought house. Needed doing too! I used http://cinderfellachimneydweller.co.uk and thought they were great. No way would I do it myself!

£40 to £80 seems to be the going rate here depending on how many have to be swept
WHat a daft thing to say. If it depends on how many are to be swept it is £40-£250000000. But why would you phrase it like that?£40 in normal persons words.
If you have 2 or 3 chimneys in the same property he'll drop it to say £40 a chimney.
I think it was an accurate description - my sweep charges around £35 a chimney but as I have 2 he only charges me £25 each
If your new to fires, make sure to ask the sweeper about using the right fuel, to avoid it tarring up. If it's a new one your'll properly find it lined, either cemented it, or metal flu with filling around it, these are a lot easier to live with and clean, and are more efficient, unlike me who still has to live with unlined.
