(The mancave was a bit chilly one day last Feb so I thought I'd get a bit of heat going…..)

I had one going like that once. It went orange! In the end it cracked.
The other issue with mixing coal and wood is because coal burns from the bottom up and wood top down (or is it the other way around?) you can overheat your stove as they burn closer.
