There is a house, about 15 doors down which has copied alot of the ideas and features we put on our home.

The house in question:

Our house

Same windows in the same rail colour
Same door style
Same door furniture
Same monocouche
Same garage colour
Same garage style

Its all a bit strange...

Imitation is a form of flattery.

Both look good to me, I wouldn't worry about it - it obviously shows that a house of your type/style is in demand.

Not exactly groundbreaking stuff though is it? It's just the current trends as far as I can tell - lots of grey windows and doors popping up and that door style seem to be the most popular.

Any what's wrong with taking someone else's house style if they like what they see - better than them painting it bright pink and lime green?

This happened to my parents a couple of decades ago, they built a house then 4 or 5 imitations sprung up over the next few years.

What actually happened was that they established a design and style for new-build that the council was happy fitted in to the local character. Other people knew that that was a design that was likely to be approved, so they copied it.

I'm not sure where the issue is?

We recently updated a 60's house and wish our neighbours would do the same - unfortunately one side is trying to copy our changes but marry them up with the changes done about 10 years ago to a house down the road, and do it all on the cheap so I am expecting it to be a mess (the design looks OK, but there's no thought on finish).

Frozen sausages are the only solution to this (non)issue.

Just think yourself lucky you don't stay in a new build estate, then everyone would have cloned your house.

In this case though, apart from the door/windows they are two completely different houses.

I would definately agree with you there - you are coming across as very strange indeed, anctually taking the time to sit in your car at the end of someones road and take photographs of their house because they have dared to have the same colour windows installed ffs... get a fuxking life !

So basically someone else who has a rendered house has used a similar colour to paint their windows and doors?

They are at it around my way too. There must me 5-10 houses near me that look exactly like that.

I have just checked the fkers at Everest have even added the colour and style of your windows to their range. You need to take this further.

Also my neighbour has just had a very similar driveway put in. Let me know if you want me to take action on your behalf.
