Hi All,

First post in this section, so please be gentle..

I'm looking for ideas on what to do with the side of our garage. We had a temporary bamboo style covering, but a) it's st and b) it looked st!

Would a simple Wood Cladding look best? The garage really brings down the rest of the house etc so I'm keen for something to be a permanent solution

Timber cladding would improve it vastly but isn't the cheapest, from the picture the window and door look ready for replacement. I'd go with new upvc and paint it with a good masonry paint.

Thanks, you're right about the door and windows! The only issue with painting it is that is has that stone covering (not sure what it's called, like small stones set on concrete?)

It's called Pebbledash

Yes cladding would vastly improve it, the main issue is going to be fixing the Battons to the concrete, you don't want to drill or screw it, so might have to use some fancy glue.

The cladding doesn't have to be expensive, unless you want red cedar, look at waney edge or feather edge cladding, cheap and a vast improvement on the concrete, if a little "rustic"

Pebble dash wink

You should be able to paint it with a deep pile roller

Thanks everyone, appreciate the help

I think a new window/door & painting could be the best option.
