Hi sorry for the duplication as this is a continuation of my old thread... but this is a new idea really so new thread ...

I am thinking of doing a 1 foot high raised patio (away from house).

I would like to get something like this to put on top:

The manufacturer Dunster House states that it just sits on the patio. Does this sound right? Ideally it would be anchored but how could I do that so that it is secure on the patio and doesn't rot where feet touch the ground? As it will be on a foot of hardcore / mortar, I'm not sure standard anchors will work

Would you just put this down & leave it without being attached to ground? Or could I have concreet 'feet' made to come through the hardcore and paving & raise it maybe 2-3 inches above the pavers so the feet aren't in contact wih ground & then it can be properly anchored to the concrete?

To me the picture looks like each leg has a separate 'boot' - so you could screw those down and then slide the main leg into it.

last one I did I had a some metal legs made : 400mm stainless tube with a 100mm square foot on one end and a 100mm L section on the other. I then concreted in the legs with about 50mm above the ground and just bolted the wooden legs onto the L. Then I put a simple timber trim around to hide the metalwork.

Personally, I'd use something like these.

Or these, shrouded with semi-sacrificial 'skirting' pieces.
