I'm currently (attempting) to strip the paint off the frames of my doors but it seems to be taking longer than I'd hoped. I've been using a solvent free product called Home Strip, mainly because, whilst I'm stripping the frames, I have architraves so I don't want to 'burn' or damage the new bare wood. This product works ok-ish but it just doesn't seem to be striping that much each application; at this rate it'll take six months just to strip the frames!

Has anyone one had any experience with any other products that they would recommend? The propery is fairly old and, whilst I haven't tested it, I don't want to use a heat-gun in case there's any lead-based paint.

The problem is 'solvent-free'. Gloss paint is solvent based; therefore you need solvent to shift it. Throw away your pansy eco-friendly green st and get some proper paint stripper smile

Wherever you see the words 'solvent-free' replace them with 'doesn't work very well'.
