In our new (old) house, when you clean up under the toilet bowl rim some black mould?/gunk comes out. It is not in the cistern above and there is always more the next time it is cleaned. Anybody got a clue as to what it is aand how to get rid ? I've never had it any other toilet before.

Thanks for the reply's so far
Done the bleach up under the rim over night- it comes back, I guess it doesn't get into all the nooks and crannies.
Toilet is in the bathroom, no extractor fan, gets steamed up with the shower on, but no mould anywhere else ever.
You can't even see it, until you clean the toilet up under the rim with the brush and all this black gunk comes out, just don't think it should be there.
Bleach in the cistern was what I had thought to do, just thought I would ask the great PH collective first.
