Velux glass replacement.....?

Hi,
Has anyone done this?
I've got an old GGL-1 78x98 window that has seen better days, the glass is cloudy and the inner frame is looking a bit manky.
Rather than replacing the whole thing I figured I could pop it out, sand and treat the timber and replace the glass with something clear and hopefully more sound & heatproof.
Is it as simple as it sounds and are there any issues with modern glass being thicker?

Turns out there's only one choice of glass for my frame (it's so old Velux no longer list it on their website and it's a special order) and it also works out at around £70 however I was willing to spend a bit more to improve the noise and thermal performance.
The instructions seem pretty straightforward but I was curious to see if anyone had done it themselves.
Replacement units are between £180 & £380 + labour depending on the choice of glass, from what I've read we should be able to retain the liner but the frame will require different flashing which'll bump the cost up.
I might just do the glass for now and look to upgrade the whole thing in a couple of years.
