Oh dear. Help!

So to cut a long story short, a candle was dripping in the bathroom, Mrs H decided in her wisdom to put it over the sink.

I know, right?

Half hour later the u-bend is predictably blocked with wax ffs.

So I've removed the u-bend and managed to stab out a large portion of the wax with wire and a drain blocker thing. Water can pass but there's a large lump of wax still in the tube.

I had a stroke of genius and thought I'd microwave the u-bend to melt the wax and pour it out. What could possibly go wrong? ...Not so clever when flames started shooting out of one end

Tips to remove the remainder?!

After an hour of stabbing it's all out. But the seal has gone on the upper join ffs. I've ladled a fktonne of mastic in there and pray it'll hold.
