We live in a cold house, so my 23 year old daughter has a 2kw fan heater to take the edge off her bedroom when necessary. Today she went to work at 10:00am and I came home at 7:00pm to find it on, so I'm not a happy daddy. We don't have a smart meter (albeit I did request one and have been told by Scottish Power they will fit one for us...within the next 2 years!), so I've no idea how much today's mistake has cost. Any ideas? Apart from planning to tell her the house could have burnt down, I'd like to tell her the cost!

Well fk my old boots. I thought it was going to be £25! I was only going to use the cost to stress the point. I might still tell her it was £25!
Fire was my real concern as these old houses go up very nicely.

South East Water left my garden hose running for 4 days once. Best part of 70,000 litres through my meter and onto my grass. Worked out the cost and it was only about £30! Grass looked good.

70,000 litre's in four days. Was the tap only dripping?
Crap mains water pressure here. We were only getting 12 lpm at the time. Supplier said it met the minimum by law.
