I have just been informed that this cartridge is discontinued and was made a company that is pronounced as "sole" I have no idea how to spll it though.
On the thermostat bit it says: "vernet france"
This is a built in shower and unless I find this cartridge (or another one that fits) I am looking at a lot of work needing to be done.

Anyone got any idea where I should be looking for this part

thanks in advance for your help!

Is it knackered? Have you stripped it down to clean it?
Yeah the temp doesn't change no matter what i do with it. Would throwing it whole into a sonic cleaner help you reckon?

It sounds like the shuttle is stuck. Have you taken it apart?
nope, haven't even attempted. Not even sure how to tbh, does it start wth a crescent shaped washer at teh top?

Look very closely.
It should unscrew. Somewhere between the top and bottom.
took the crescent shaped washer off, wcich allowe the top bit to move in a piston fashion but other than that cant find any seams where i can unscrew it. Will have to wait till tomorrow, since i have a limited amount of tools here. Still wouldn like to find out what this is and where i could get a replacement too smile

thanks. I get the feeling that it's just the thermostat that is Vernet and not the whole cartridge

Also found this

would I be correct that the "fits 90% of shower" is a completely off the cuff figure and if it is not, murphy's law dictates that i would fall into the other 10%?

I regularly soak my trevi boost shower cartridge in a bath of white vinegar to remove the lime scale. If you've not tried that, I'd recommend it. (Same symptoms as you - when it gets clogged up, it doesn't heat up.)
Disassemble it as much as easily done then fully immerse (and shake about a bit) overnight.
cool will do that overnight in a sonic cleaning bath. i think that will get it as close to as new as is possible

QUICK UPDATE: soaked the thing in vinegar overnight (it's now very shiny)
then had it cleaned for an hour with ultrasound.

Could not find a way to take it apart.

Put it back in. only cold water seems to feeding into it. took it out again. only hot water now seems to be feeding into it. does it matter how far in I need to screw it in? or mabe it has to be positioned in a certain way?
