Mine kills stuff IF he's not too busy sniffing to actually see it... Never killed a Springer owner though Chews them a bit and spits them out as they're generally a bit old and gristly.

One of my Rotties used to lay in wait for the Magpies that have nested at the bottom of my garden ever since(and probably long before) I moved here. She had several of them and was ever so pleased when bringing you a present that was still twitching away in her mouth!

I have two working cockers, one is a failed gundog with the attention span of a gnat, he will occasionally flush out the odd bit of wildlife, but then stare into space wagging his tail. The younger one, I'm not sure what he would do if he caught anything, so far he gives everything plenty of warning I've never seen a dog that can bark and yelp while swimming before. He's convinced he will eventually catch a duck, but he'll need to stop making so much noise first.

The springer I had years ago was probably used in her early life by a poacher, she would work, but did like to venture off on her own rabbiting. She would often leave a present of entrails on the door-step when she came back.
