I love Bullies, had two, and as others say, hard work.

But where I am now, just can't get one.

Would never have another breed of dog anymore (but would be tempted to get a Bullie first and then follow with a Ridgeback, but that would be two dogs where you would need to be a saint and have neighbours who like you).

Hence the EBT in my username.

I had an American Pit bull that unfortunately passed a few years ago due to cancer. I've considered a English bull terrier but am concerned about health issues. Losing a dog unnaturally took a lot out of me.

Correct background is key.

Medical tests on mum and dad are needed -formed quite the expense when we got Lou.

Obviously white dogs are more prone to deafness. Patella luxation is common as are eye problems and skin issues.

Lou is over £100 a month to insure and we’ve never made a claim. We’ve been very lucky.

That's a blessing. I would have given £10,000 for another few months. It happened too quick.

Beautiful bulls, I also have a miniature bull terrier and the truth is that they are charming. Of course, I advise you to find a good kennel specialized in this breed as I did. For example, in Spain you have the miniature bull terrier kennel Costa Cabana. Greetings https://www.bullterrierminiatura-costacabana.com/m...

It’s sad to read but it’s good to see someone do a bit of due diligence. Bull terriers are absolutely not a “first dog” breed.
They are mental. Full stop.

Best breed in the world if you can get over the foibles.
Was mine, just had to make sure I was on top of his education until he knew what is what. Only thing I got bent with was that despite all the literature on canine education and all the pseudo military wker trainers, is that you have to make deals with them, just let them be 80% of the time, and just keep orders to the essentials, after he knows VERY well, where the limits of everything are (I give him quite a big ceiling), and never bend to those limits, never, 1 time for an whole 1 second without correction, it will mean 2 months of daily reinforcement to not do it again LOL.

Couldn't be happier, he does his mad things, he is quite predictable on his behaviour, so everything has been a smooth funny as hell ride for the last 5 years, first year, even tho I didn't saw it at the time, was bloody hard. Lots of patience, googling for hours, lots of trial and errors, lots of fun, lots of fixing. All worth the while.

Lou is almost 7.

Zero recall.

She’ll go home with anyone.

Our two are loving us working from home.. Not sure how that will manifest itself as and when we go back working in the office..

they make great foot warmers..

Milo has been up to mischief though.. Well i say mischief, what i mean is, he's cost is a fortune..

He had to go to the vets as his tail went very limp and painful to the touch, which was Limber tail.. who even knew that over wagging their tail was a thing??

Exactly a week later.. he broke his dew claw.. He had to be sedated, as it was still partially attached.. they've actually had to completely remove the nail from his dew claw.. a few days later and he's running around like nothing has happened.. £300 thank you very much.. Thank the lord for pet insurance..

Known as rudder tail too.
Lou does it every few months if she’s getting too over excited out seeing new people. Trying to keep them calm is a nightmare.

roflrofl at keeping them calm.. you have Lou, you must know that asking a Bullie to stay calm is akin to asking jelly to stop wobbling..

I find it funny. I can see why people don’t know what to do when faced with a bully that’s on the edge of going nuclear with excitement.

She’s very talkative as well - people assume it’s growling. Then she bounces, wags and if the intended target still hasn’t come over to see her and provide the love she deserves - she’ll start bambi-ing round - stiff legged trot much like a deer.

Arthor doing what he does best - snoozing on the sofa.

He’s 4 now and still an idiot. Our Jack Russell Collie Cross sadly passed in April, the upshot is it’s improved Arthor no end.

He’s gorgeous!

Lou turned 7 a couple of months back. She’s going grey now and is deep in her winter hibernation now. Consisting of refusing to get up till lunchtime then eating and lazing about til walkies - fking mental for an hour, then sleeping.

Was with Petplan for years as I get a discount but even with that their prices got silly.
Lou was over £120 a month to cover and we’d never made a claim.

Now with boughtbymany. Got it down to £70.

These dogs have so many potential problems you must get lifetime issue cover.
Something common like skin complaints can cost you a horrendous amount over the life of one of these little monsters.

Hope your ready for your entire life to get tipped upside down.

Then shaken from side to side.

Then licked.
