Here's our F3B Labradoodle, 14wks old, on the beach in Northumberland a few days ago :

First dog I've had since I was a kid. First month was hard work but she's fully house trained now & turning into a wonderful family pet smile

The old fella, bless him...

I think we are going to have take a very serious decision in the new year as he really isnt himslef anymore and is becoming more and more un housetrained amongst other issues.

Came across these hard working dogs whilst on holiday -- Huntaways.
Beautiful they look like they are very determined dogs. Bet they have a whale of a time running about.
They need to be determined to round the sheep from the hills of the Wairarapa. Nice natured dogs though.
The small one at the back was called a Heading dog and more like our border collies.

Just gotta love and cherish the oldies - our veteran is increasingly either incontinent or just considers the grass too wet/wind too blustery/himself too lazy to venture out (probably the latter) but we're just grateful for the time we have with him these days cloud9 It's all you can do, I understand how you feel...

Bless him. He still looks quite alert though. It is heartbreaking that you have to think about making a decision for an older much loved pet.

Pics can be deceiving sadly...

Hes losing his sight in at least one eye, is totally deaf and is fast becoming incontinent from both ends, as well as being very unsteady on his back legs.

The end of the day, he is 15 and has long outlived the rest of his litter and I really dont want to see him become a complete skeleton and much more unhappy. Its not going to be an easy decision to make, buts its one we all have to make eventually.

Lets get xmas out the way and see where we are.....

Sorry to hear it mate. He looks like a beauty!

We all forget how short our time is with our dogs I think, as I'm here with my two (4 and 3 years old) I can't imagine a time when they'll be gone, it just feels odd!
