Would leaving at 8 weeks cause the kitten (now cat) to paw at our bellys? Nigel has done it since we got him.

No he is just checking how squidgy you both are getting...... Our Moglet does this I guessed it was just one of the random quirks he had like sleeping with all 4 paws in the air or dragging his bed across the lounge or putting his toys in the water bowl... The list goes on!

I think I have read that that is him trying to get you (who he probably thinks is his mother) to start producing milk.

Our cats do the pawing thing when the want to get comfy on your lap, belly, head etc...

They do exactly the same to my fleecy dressing gown if I leave it on the bed - it's their favourite thing to lie on.

But, it happens frown
It happens all of the time all over the place. Only a few people know when to remove them and why.

Not if it´s like he´s massaging you.

but troubles can show up later.

clawing everything else but the scratchposts no matter how many you have and where they are.

Weeing and dodo on the floor despite being declared healthy by the vet and you have several litterboxes around the house.

Sucking on you.

licking you a lot.

constantly wanting to be where you are incl at night.

Cleaning themselves ao much they loose all their hairs on those spots and get wounds.

Social issues: Accepting just a few people.

We got our cat when living in Qatar, a forlorn repeatedly mewing stray I came across in a car rental car park, circa 4 weeks old based on tooth development, certainly less than 6 weeks (Vet estimate). No sign of any other cats around despite searching, so off to a better life (rather than growing into one of the many bin foraging feral cats, until he was run over or died of disease).

Cat is now 2.5 years old, independent, social, always interested in new people; in other words, entirely normal. Absolutely chilled out, in fact, a superb kitty. Scratching posts used, single litter box shared with Qatar refugee cat number 2 (we have fortunately left).

A good news anecdotal experience for you, anyway.

Excellent picture and excellent cat, well done for giving a rescue cat a home.

One of our 4 cats is Bamse. we got him from an animal rescue center. His previous owners sold their home and left Bamse to his own devices. The only good thing was that they let him out of the house.

It's Bob's birthday today, and so he's had steak for supper.

No pics. A man must get his kip.

Mix, but we're not quite sure what of - adopted just as "domestic semi-long haired" with no lineage records.

Had a bit of a scare with Treacle this week, she became very lethargic and was in pain if you picked her up.

So off to the vets and she was diagnosed with the feline Calici virus, it's a bit like flu but it causes a
massive infection, raised temps and joint pains, her temp was 40.3c so on to anti-biotics and painkillers
four days later she's getting back to normal, but she gave us a scare though.....

Here's a pic of a very chilled cat.
