Our boy has just turned one year old this month. He's a damn sight uglier but no calmer than he was when we got him!
A blurry photo from when we got him
And this one from this morning on the bridleway. Over 25kg now, he just sinks straight up to his belly in the mud, which he seems to enjoy.
Gorgeous doggy you have there!A blurry photo from when we got him

Today i done something for the first time....took a dog for a walk! After nearly 32yrs on this planet i have never walked a dog.
Here he is (still havent decided on a name for him) after his first proper adventure. I dont think ive seen him so worn out!
It's great fun isn't it. Though get a name quick, of he is old enough to be vaccinated and so going out he really needs a name . Good luck on choosing one! Here he is (still havent decided on a name for him) after his first proper adventure. I dont think ive seen him so worn out!

Thanks! Basil is our first dog. In hindsight we should have picked an easier breed for a novice. He goes everywhere with his nose welded to the ground, following any smell he fancies. No amount of name calling or waving treats will distract him. Soft as anything and full of character though.
I've been looking into getting our first dog and Bassets came up on my radar very early on as they are quite docile and can maybe suit people who work all day, but many reviews cemented what you have just said. 'Once they have found a sent, there isn't much you can do to get them off that sent' Also, very very stubborn. Yours is a lovely looking dog though

Loki and halo. Loki settles in after a couple of days
Loki a couple of month later marvelling at how much fur Halo can dump in one brushing
Loki now getting used to his new back pack - 1 year old in 3 days so he can start carrying stuff in it for his AMWA copper certificate.

(Thanks to everyone for the kind comments on Kodi, only been a few weeks so still quite raw but Skye his 19 month old sister is keeping us amused having nice runs on the beach)
Gummers How earlier this year with them both.

I can confirm all of the above, but they are still great dogs. Have you seen the Grand Griffons ? My favourite of the group.

Sweet. What breed is he?
He's a yorkie and poodle cross. Ive been informed that these are called yorkiepoos but i cant bring myself to call him that, it just doesnt sound right At the moment he just wants to chew everything he comes into contact with which im assuming is due to him teething. I tried to get a picture of all of him but he rarely stays still long enough
For a small dog he doesnt half st!
