Hmm...going to have to admit something in public here that not even my closest friends know about....I have a model railway in my loft!!

Anyway, whilst I keep the loft clean (I even take the vac up there), I have noticed some tiny creatures that are about the size of a spec of dust, white/light beige in colour crawling over the trains. Closer inspection has found them to be on the track & other places. Now there are not hundreds of them, just the odd two or three crawling around the trains everytime I go up there.

What could they be? Dust mites, mould mites, bird mites? (I do get birds nesting in the eves but they dont come into the loft itself). The house is a relatively modern one (1994) and the loft area is very clean unlike some old terraces.

Any ideas how to kill them? Will flyspray work? Can you buy mite killer? I dont want something that leaves a residue on the layout and I dont want to try one of those smoke bombs either as I should imagine they will leave some form of residue too! I thought they may die during the recent cold spell as the loft suffers from the extremes of temperature but they are still here & have been for around 3 months now. They are not present anywhere else in the house, just the loft.

HELP! I want rid of the damn things!!
