Gatwick is a bit of a hole compared to Heathrow most of the time though, so given a choice it would be Heathrow but it's generally dependant on where you're going.

For me: Best = Southampton which is great, but obviously you are limited on destinations. Worst = Stansted which is hell on earth (especially trying to get back through passport control) and I would fly from anywhere rather than there. Stansted is a PITA to get to as well.

I fly a lot with work. Ireland, always Southampton as it's so quick to go through. 38 minutes from wheels touching down to kettle on is my record. Europe, again Southampton if there are flights but they're usually limited. Further afield I fly Heathrow and pretty much always select BA flights so I can go through Terminal 5 which is a doddle and easy from the M3. You also get the highlight of the Pods from Business parkingsmile I only go to Gatwick for skiing in France as most 'package' deals seem to go from there - not out of choice.

Pretty much always Gatwick for me - being as it's not to far away and a pretty simple drive there!

I fly 2 or 3 times a month. Preferred airport is London City followed by Stansted (I stay in Harlow most weekends)then Heathrow and Gatwick. Unfortunately I'm forced to use LHR most of the time!

The reason for me is that 99.9% of my flying is on business & fairly frequent. Heathrow is further for me than Gatwick, but easier parking & slicker once there, also optional flights when/if it goes pear shaped. Stansted is very strange, with poor parking options, especially the chuffing long walk from short stay to the airport. London City is extraordinarily expensive for car parking & is a pig to get to from Kent.
I must admit I've started using Eurostar into France/Belgium & then SNCF/ICE train if going on further.
That is invaluable, thank you! The scale of what I'm looking to do is initially centred around Gatwick but there is certainly scope to expand to other airports should the model of what we're planning succesfully work yes

Local like Southampton is more limited to Europe. So that only really leaves Gatwick and Heathrow. For long haul, Heathrow seems to be the one with the most flights and you can basicly fly anywhere from it. Normally a case of wanting to fly out on certain dates, Heathrow will normally tick that box. Gatwick might do the flight, but not as often.
Indeedy makes sense! yes

Bournemouth every time if we can. Willing to pay a premium for the convenience. Otherwise next choice is Heathrow (use the National Express service) or Gatwick (take the car and use Gatwick Airport Parking - definately not one of those "off site" companies).
How have you found Gatwick generally? I went to Venice back in October & used Gatwick's long stay, cars packed like sardines, shuttlebuses crammed full with people like the tube in London at rush hour, just with luggage too! & it was surprisingly expensive for the 4 days I was there (£56)

You & me both! rofl

Keep the input coming guys & girls! It all helps especially as folks using Gatwick in particular will be directly benefiting from it wink I'm working on the branding at the moment, once done I shall be issuing instructions for the website to take shape, then we will go from there yes

For me Bristol Airport every day as I work there!

When I lived down in Southampton for long-haul, I would go from Heathrow and the odd occasion Gatwick, but if it was UK/Europe I would try Southampton as first choice then Gatwick as second, worst case Luton then Stansted.

But now were Bristol way i would go Bristol for UK/Europe then Heathrow or Manchester for long/medium-haul.

Not sure what you are up to but the industry is all over the place at the moment, and people are looking to spend as little on parking and transportation to airports, the duty free shops are also noticing a loss in revenue with them asking the airports to park aircraft on closer stands so passengers spend the maximum time in the shops.

I generally fly from Gatwick as I live only 2 miles away, having said that it does depend upon where I am travelling to.

Heathrow makes me want to kill myself less than the others.

I work at Oslo airport for what it's worth. Honestly, being 'in the trade' and then seeing other airports in action is eye wateringly excruciating. I'm looking at you Manchester international gateway to hell.

Heathrow for me most of the time, although of course things are inevitably driven by where you are trying to get to. For my regular work journey I prefer LHR on BA, although tomorrow I'm sampling the competion so will see what Gatwick and Ukraine International are like scratchchin

Used to use Southampton a lot, but without leaving a car there as my wife worked in Eastleigh and dropped me off!

As someone else said, Gatwick always seems 'messy' to me.

Cardiff - though this is currently limited to some Canaries, Spain, Egypt and the like.

They're hoping to get in a US flight operator at some point until which time I will use Gatwick generally but may try Birmingham.

Bournemouth is great, very relaxed. And from Bath it's almost as quick as Bristol.

Pretty much all of my trips are to the US these days, which I'll always choose heathrow (and, much as it pains me to say, BA). I really like T5. So Newcastle > Heathrow is my usual.

Exeter is a great little airport too.
I live north of Bristol, and on a reasonable traffic day it's almost as quick from Falfield to Exeter as it is to traverse Bristol to get to 'Lulsgate International'.
