Only been on one all inclusive to the red sea in Egypt. Never again.

Huge hotel, free drink and food.

The food was just standard fair and not that great to be honest but worst was the booze - half a pint large plastic glass half full with the rest as froth. It was impossible to get merry never mind drunk.

I would rather pay for it than do that again.

Went to Turkey (supposedly 5*, but it wasn't) last year. Hotel and grounds were nice and on the beach. It was great for the kids as they could get ice cream/drinks/hot dogs etc when they wanted. Food was ok and drinks were branded.

BUT....the reputation of the Russians is well deserved. I'm no Alf Garnett, but I've never seen such a display of rudeness and gluttony. Many of the hotels are owned and run by Russians for Russians, with a token British prescence. All the entertainment is orientated towards them. It doesn't necessarily spoil the holiday, just be prepared.
you should try working with them !!

honestly they just dont understand manners , I once went on a package holiday from Russia to Turkey ....with girlfriend i had at the time ,, I discovered there are 3 prices at the AI hotel , cheapest was Russian , next English ....most expensive was German ...all getting the same service !!

only advantage ..........Russian women and it was dirt cheap to fly to the Maldives $800 each for 2 weeks !!

I've only been on one all-inc holiday and had a good experience. It was in Dominican Republic, nice resort, excellent beach and food was fine. It had about 4 or 5 restaurants of different styles and quality so while there was the main eating area with BBQ/griddle/salad bar etc. there was also individual restaurants serving their own style of food to the table. The bars were also fine and it's nice during the day to be able to order a vodka & tonic or a beer with nothing to sign. Of an evening I was sure to tip a specific couple of barman and they made sure we got decent whisky/brandy put on the all-in tab. My wife likes to read books and sunbath, I like snorkeling and exploring a bit. It suited us fine but we chose it more for the location than because it was all-inc.
