Very close and I'm feeling generous so I'll let you have it!

It's Capo Caccia in the North West of Sardinia. You pass by it on the boat to Grotto di Nettune from Alghero. It's a lovely part of the world with some fantastic roads for driving as well, just watch out for the suicidal locals who are crazy even by Italian standards!

Ha! You'll gather we didn't do that trip when we stayed in Alghero a few years ago. Perhaps my head was turned by all the superyachts in the NE

I completely understand why! Some of the cars around there weren't too shabby either, particularly parked up at the harbours.

If you do stay in Alghero (or over that way) in the future I'd recommend it, the caves themselves are superb and the boat trip is very pleasant also.
