All over the place. Local for preference but the flights aren't available. As has been said, look at the volume of flights out of airports and that will give you your answer for the general public.

I run a a travel services company operating out of Heathrow and Gatwick, don't have a volume demand for the others which may in itself tell you something. Our demographic is heavy corporate with a bit of media dahling/celebs thrown in. Even though there is a Gatwick requirement, Heathrow volume for us is circa 10 times Gatwick - for corporate LHR is THE major hub by a long way, LGW tends to be more leisure in nature, will however depend a bit on what you are offering and the likely end user. Not sure what your concept is but feel drop me a pm if you like and I'd be happy to try to answer any questions.

In short yes...The thread was originally posted in the South Coast forum, as those were the opinions I was after when the thread was posted. I'm afraid the Mods had moved the thread to here yes But having said, the start-up I'm looking at will be based "down South" I'm afraid...Who knows for the future, it's certainly a concept that would work VERY well around Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool etc...

TC - Thank you for the input, I will most certainly keep you in mind! Especially as you (as luck would have it) are the exact type of company I will be wanting to speak to in the coming months. Or at least the chaps I have handling Marketing/Advertising will be wanting a word no doubt hehe

Thank you to all the responses! It's hugely appreciated, keep it coming! Especially as I mentioned earlier, it will be a service that PH'ers will hopefully find beneficial yes

To those that use Heathrow, I assume you drive up? Take a taxi? Have family drop you off?

Most of my travel of late is to the Caucuses (writing this in Baku!) so limited to Heathrow most of the time.

Live near Chelmsford and have begun to use train and Heathrow Express which is about 2/3rds the cost and have to say this is my preferred choice.

This though depends on flight times and if the return flights isn't at weekends.

Returned form Minsk a few weeks ago on a Saturday. Due to engineering works, it took me longer to get from Heathrow to Chelmsford than it did from Minsk to Heathrow.

I voted for Luton (1st preference)then Gatwick then Heathrow.
I don't drive there and park, but take a taxi to the train station and use the train ( Luton & Gatwick both on same route service) Heathrow means taking the underground.
Airport is governed by destination choice but would pay a supplement to fly from Luton as it's closer to where I live.

Is this for real?

'Where do you leave your car when you go on holiday?'.

Whats next?

'Where do you leave your keys when you go on holiday?'

Sorry to be a stick in the mud Ironic but i can only see this thread as a bad thing. Many of us as you well know are linked by Facepage so it wouldnt take much for a lurking TWOCer to find out when you were on your hols and then drive to your preferred airport to collect your car. My FB account was actually hacked on Friday by a guy from Dallas, Texas and i can assure you that from now on my content is going to be secure. Stay safe sportsfans!!

Heathrow makes me want to kill myself less than the others.

I work at Oslo airport for what it's worth. Honestly, being 'in the trade' and then seeing other airports in action is eye wateringly excruciating. I'm looking at you Manchester international gateway to hell.
Pretty much this ^^^^

Plus I missed the bit in the OP where it was only supposed to be for those who live in South East England, though suppose the selection of airports might suggest that.

My nearest airport in UK is BHX, but use LHR because although it is about 50 minutes longer to drive there, what I gain by using BHX I lose far more by sitting in FRA, AMS or CPH for a connection.

Plus as sneijder says other places are gateways to hell. Yes I'm looking at a lot more than MAN, BHX, AMS in that category.

This was originally in the south coast forum, but someone has moved it!

Ah, thanks, all is now clear, at least from OP's perspective. hehe
