Where was I? Vol 2

It is Australia, but where?
Seriously? I was joking, there's been so much Aussie stuff lately.Which bit, well I know all its cities pretty well, it looks like a botanic garden, isn't the Sydney or Melbourne one. I'm not sure if there is a Brisbane one, it's not like the one in Hobart, might be something in Canberra if there is one there. Perth, maybe but I'm not sure where, so Adelaide is the most likely one there I'd guess.
(weird place, religion and prostituation whilst operating half an hour behind the East Coast States)

Strange, I managed to get round Oz by mostly avoiding any bleeding city. Can't stand cities, full to the brim of the dross of society. Had to do bits and bobs of cities around the world but life has been kind enough to allow me to avoid townies.Which bit, well I know all its cities pretty well.
I live in Guernsey and am forced to go into St.Peter Port about twice a year. Yuck:
Yes Henry, it is Adelaide. Did you date Julia Gillard!?! ;-)
Regards cities, we like a couple of days in the bigger cities but Sydney and Melbourne are great. We stay in a house in the Sydney suburbs, Mosman, and love the area. We have travelled a lot around NSW, QLD, Vic, SA and Tassie and like to get off the beaten track, we love the scenery, people, easy driving and good tucker.

Australia is an interesting place, I have been many times because I have a business there, I have been to and stayed at all the main places many time. And there aren't many of those places. The country splits into the states and they are quite independent, each has it's own city and really they each have one each.Regards cities, we like a couple of days in the bigger cities but Sydney and Melbourne are great. Around half of the population live at Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane with the first two being of size, Brisbane about half their size and a bunch of others such as Perth, Adelaide, Hobart & Darwin being the rest. That is they are the rest of the states where they are almost the only cities/places of size. Except of course Canberra, which is the most boring place on earth. Start working with an organisation and if they are in Melbourne then you meet them in Melbourne etc. But you can do business with organisations in Canberra for years without going there, they are always keen to meet in Sydney or Melbourne, or Brisbane or, well, anywhere but Canberra. So dull, such a place everyone - even those living there - want to leave.
Sydney and Melbourne contest against each other, Brisbane pretends to be different whilst being the same, Perth feels pretty much isolated and ignored - because it is - but then they all agree that Adelaide is weird. They do strange things, NSW & Victoria move their clock every winter/summer, Queensland doesn't, they have to be different. Then South Australia does it by half an hour. 10.00 in Sydney? That makes it 9.30 in Adelaide. Recently ANZAC day - a holiday - fell on the same day as Easter Monday so NSW & Victoria etc. moved it to Tuesday. Not SA though, down in Adelaide ANZAC was on the Monday and Easter Monday moved to the Tuesday! Of course it makes no difference, the rest of the country just shakes their heads and carry on, it's weird people down there.
One of the problems is that everything is in the handful of cities and they (Sydney, Melbourne and maybe Brisbane) are worth a visit - Perth too, but it takes a day to fly there and another to fly back. But between there is largely nothing. Except attractions! Someone built a large banana, another a large prawn, and so on. They then will sell you a drink, maybe something to eat. People would drive miles to see them, an attraction!
Hell of a place Australia, big but small, both at the same time. Lots of space with 90% of it left empty as everyone squashes together paying a fortune to live on top of each other. Strange place. As I say, I've been there many times. Do I like it? Well yes, in a way, but I'd not go and live there!
