Hence me hobbling about like a cripple. Bloody moguls
The first one is never a problem. Neither the second. By the third I'm a bit ragged. I generally hit either the forth or fifth.
At this point I usually do my signature trick of "the ninety".
And it's the one after that that's generally a problem.

This year one of the runs was lovely until about 2pm. Then bumpy.
I came down it at about 3:45 and there was a mogul field I simply didn't expect....
My problem was moguls covered with couple of feet of fresh powder, invisible bug very much there.

Chaps,

A leading question. How late do we think the season will run this year?
I'm considering a cheeky last minute outing...
I'm planning on skiing every month this year, so there's no need to end the season if you don't want to, wink
Cool, what have you got lined up?

I took a long weekend to make the most of the season, so have skied the last three days. Yesterday I went to Laax for the first time, it's a great resort with a massive range of slopes so I can see why everyone raves about it. The view from the top of the glacier was fantastic too

Unfortunately that was at 3,000m, and once you dropped to about 2,750m you couldn't see your hand in front of your face, although it got a little better in the afternoon it was still cloudy.

Today I wasn't sure if I should go back to Laax or somewhere else, but a discounted lift ticket for Klosters made the decision for me. I now have a red nose to show for it, the snow was OK but cut up a bit towards the end of the day. The views are fantastic though, and you can get a decent meal on the slopes too.

I'm not sure when the next trip is going to be, I don't know if I can get out next weekend so it might be slim pickings unless we get another few days of decent snow soon.

Nothing! Was in Japan in January, but my plan involves doing it where I live (Norway) and a different mountain each month. Until May it should be easy by skinning up, but after that will probably involve carrying the skis a lot more.

I did wear sun cream, but clearly factor 15 wasn't sufficient. No panda eyes, just a nice red nose, so I look like a raging alcoholic at the moment. Someone else in the office didn't wear any sun cream at all last week, he looks like the bottom of his face was attacked with a blow-torch so it could be worse I guess!

Enjoying La Plagne at the moment but not really finding anything hugely challenging... however, today it turned into grey skies and flat-light conditions with a thin dusting of new snow and suddenly everything is challenging!! Think I have tried every variation of visor in the shops to try and get some definition, all to no avail. Thankfully it is due to go back to blue skies and sunshine tomorrow.

Lots of nice off piste. And some challenging blacks over on the Les arcs side of la Plagne.

Off to the Three Valleys tomorrow, at long last! Three hours of work tomorrow morning and then boosting up to LHR, literally counting down the hours!

Just had a cracking week in Val Disere. 4 of my 6 days were blue sky's - shame Wednesday's forecast for 40cm didn't materialise, but the snow has been good either way.

Gutted I won't be skiing again until 2017!

Nice to be able to get up, check the weather, jump in the car/on the train and be at the top of the mountain in under an hour smile

Good old Flumserberg! You must live fairly near me, I'm a bit closer though - 35 mins drive to Unterterzen. It looks lovely today, might try and head over there tomorrow if my son is over his runny nose by then.

Further down the lake than you I think - From EF you're in H aren't you? We're in Pfäffikon. Takes under an hour to drive to Tannenbodenalp and get to the top of the first chair smile I think Unterterzen is 20 minutes for us by car, but then you have to deal with the scrum at the ticket office and the cable car up.

Indeed. I can do Tannenbodenalp in 50 mins I think but wasn't taking the gondola time there into account. I find Unterterzen is usually OK, but tend not to go early at weekends, if I have a full day free I usually go somewhere a bit bigger.
