Visited MB back in 2007, can't remember much about it, but there was some Lewis Hamilton merch in a glass showcase, I fancied one of the baseball caps. smile

The problem with volunteers, I find (and I am sure this doesn't apply to you) is that they can have an attitude of "I'm doing this for free, I will behave how I wish".

Th[mat was certainly the case with the driving simulator. No engagement from the staff at all. Just standing talking to one another.

With regard to the track being closed, it smacked more of CBA. As I said, it was dry and sunny. I'll take some persuading that it was the fear of litigation.

As I said, the first visit was great. The second not.
Was it a Wednesday by any chance ?
If it was, I know exactly who you're talking about, they're one of the resons I left. I used to look the main part of the shed mostly on my own until some other elderly guy turned up around ten.
I don't remember whether yesterday was Wednesday, much less whether it was a Wednesday that we went!!!

The guys were older, unengaged and unsmiling. My son was enthused by the sim and put in a good time, I seem to recall he was top of the leader board. No comment at all from them, and I don't think they even said goodbye as we left.

Sounds like them, they've been running that sim for years, I had to remind them to open up some days, I'd often hear them say "look out there's some visitors coming in" If the place was empty they'd spend hours the sim trying to set fastest laps, and no I didn't get a go!

To come back to this, is there anywhere half decent to stay nearby? Even a premier inn walking distance to somewhere to get some food?

I'm planning to go soon, midweek. Hoping to use Premier Inn at Cobham. Going to RHS Wisley on the first day, Brooklands the next. If you're going on a weekend, check the M25 isn't closed!!

Brooklands Hotel is convenient and looks nice.

Hilton Cobham looks nice if you want a bit more greenery. Decent location, 5 minutes' drive away.

Not much in walking distance of either really ( others than Tesco or Marks)
Depends on budget, the ship in Weybridge is nice as is the Oatlands Park hotel.

Having stayed for work a few times I can confirm that it is nice!
