Stag Do in Las Vegas - Which Hotel?
Discussion
Whilst Mandalay Bay is a nice modern hotel it is the first hotel on the strip so furthest from everything else. You will be walking for about 20 minutes to get to New York New York which is realistically where the strip begins. The tram/monorail to Excalibur isn't particularly good and when I was there a month ago there was only one running which meant it was quicker to walk.
I would be looking at centre strip something like Planet Hollywood, Flamingo or The Cromwell. I stayed at the Monte Carlo which is a bit dated and they have removed the pool, it is fairly central but only cost £36 a night. I was only in the room for sleeping so didn't think it was necessary to spend more.

The Flamingo was still free in September and therefore quite busy as lots of non residents use it.
Hence giving them all the excuse they needed to start charging. All caesars properties start this month I believe apart from the Linq and Harrahs, which will be starting some time early 2017.
Cosmopolitan starts early 2017
Wynn is charging for valet, but not self park (yet)
I know someone who lives / works in Vegas and thinks it's absolutely hilarious that tourists believe that tipping $20 is a 'trick'. Or that it works. If you ask politely they will always do their best to secure you a better room if they like you.
Apparently it's a joke between colleagues as to how many tourist twenties they received that day...

when you say shortly when do you mean? as far as I know the pool parties have all just ended, and some hotels even shut their pools now.
Mandalay bay is an ok choice, a little out of the way but not bad. Annoyingly being an mgm property they now charge for parking.
I'm going at the end of August next year, I meant I was booking it shortly I also won't be doing car hire so parking charges don't bother me.Mandalay bay is an ok choice, a little out of the way but not bad. Annoyingly being an mgm property they now charge for parking.
On a Saturday night visit Freemont Street for a different and wilder experience.
Freemont Street is a must.
