Kielder Forest
Discussion
I'm planning a few nights away around the third weekend in June and would be looking to stay somewhere around Kielder Forest. Looking for self catering for 4 also needs to be animal friendly for a couple of dogs, 13th to 16th inclusive.
Any ideas ? Also any worthwhile attraction suggestions ?
Cheers

Obvious answer is Kielder Waterside Lodges. Tripadvisor link
Can recommend, also dogs allowed.
Lodges Leaplish Park
Obviously it's a bit remote for things to do other than focussed outdoor stuff, that second link has suggestions on stuff under the visit and play tabs.
If you feel like a day at the coast the Northumberland coast is stunning and about 50 miles away which isn't so far considering travelling through a cracking area of Britain. Holy Island is 70 miles away, might be a bit far for a day out only to find the tide is wrong.

Border Forest Park, www.borderforest.com
It's very dog friendly, the owners have dogs,BUT it is in the middle of nowhere,(fantastic)the nearest shop is in Otterburn, about 9 miles away.
Kielder forest is outside the window of you lodge. We have been a few times and its great if you want you walk in the forest, Just you,the dog and loads of deer, birds, rabbits, foxes,
We walked most days for between 2 and 5 hours and never saw another person, plus there's no phone signal.
If you want a bit of peace and quiet it's awesome.
No shop or bar on sight.Only walkers, hikers and dog owners.
The shop in Otterburn sells wonderful damson jam, ideal for the tea and toast for breakfast on a lovely sunny morning
Does get booked up early.
