Traveling to Rome on holiday in July and will be renting a car in Rome (central) and dropping off at Pisa airport a week later. Had booked a car through an online site and have then changed supplier as the one I was given made Del Boy look like Mother Teresa.

I'm not entirely happy with the replacement supplier either (think Europe plus Cars).

So are they all slightly dodgy or is there anyone operating there that can guarantee me a no hassle experience?

You'd be surprised how competitive the majors (Hertz Avis Europcar) can be especially for one-ways and if there's a deal of somesort prebooked & prepaid also for example if over 50 book via Saga to get the second driver free

My advice? Watch where you're driving in city centres. Many of them are open to residents only and they will chase you for fines through the hire company.

How much are you saving by not booking with one of the majors ?

I used Avis from Rome Airport, no issues.

Join the preferred scheme for free before you hire, they'll send some discount codes..
