Hi guys, went to the lakes recently based on the recommendation of the Daffodil hotel on here - stayed in the Molton Brown suite and it was fantastic! Looking for another weekend away soon and am looking for somewhere other than the lakes but within 2 hours drive of Manchester? Needs to be a boutique/luxury spa hotel if possible?

Thanks

Both are good 'foodie' places, not so great on the spa side of things but you're in the peak, so go and enjoy the countryside then return for ridiculously good food and a bottle of brandy by a roaring log fire.

Cheers, they look good actually. Although my ear is being bent with regards to a spa type break hehe

Buxton and Harrogate are both Spa towns so should have some decent Spa hotels I'd think.

You would think so about Buxton, but I looked at staying there at the end of this month, and all the hotels around there have very mixed reviews, mostly along the lines of 'nice place but falling down'.

Instead we're spending a night here: http://www.thewhitehousemanor.co.uk/ - remind me and I'll let you know what it was like.

Edit: on the spa theme, this was another possibility: http://losehillhouse.co.uk/ but read the reviews as IIRC there were some mixed ones.
