Where to go for a long weekend skiing?

I want to take my wife and son for a long weekend skiing in France / Italy / Switzerlad / Austria around February time. Can anyone recommend places that will provide accommodation from Thursday night - Sunday night, rather than the normal Sat - Sat? I am pretty sanguine about location, but proximity to an airport would be handy, as I don't want to waste hours on transfers.

Chamonix Valley. Real town (rather than a resort) with plenty of hotels, one hour drive from Geneva airport.
