Want to take a drive into London on Saturday from where we are near Maidstone (will be about 8AM, so hopefully not too busy), and ideally wanted to park around St Katharine's Dock/Wapping high street, with a view to walking along the Thames a short distance to the Tower.

Avoids having to get all the way into the road network around Minories and the bridge itself, so though it might make the journey a relatively painless one (famous last words).

Found the Tobacco Dock Car Park which looks well situated, but info seems very out of date, so I'm not sure if it even operates anymore. Has anyone parked there recently, or have other suggestions for parking in that area for a Saturday? (and where the prices will be under £20 for the day). I know there's a parking garage on Shorter street, as I walk past it every day, but was hoping to take a nice family walk (ie kids screaming, missus fed up, me just wanting to get a pint) along the Thames, and avoid driving into the thick of the tourist zone at the same time.

Cheers

I live in Butlers Wharf with the car parked underneath, to be honest, once you are that close into the city the traffic is easier than just entering the city.

I would park here. £21 for 24 hours. £18 for 12.
