Other half has just told me she has Tuesday off as well as the bank holiday Monday. Any suggestions where to go for either the whole weekend, or I was thinking it'd be easier to get somewhere for the Sunday and Monday nights.
Preference is somewhere coastal or where I can get some decent fresh fish, budget £150 a night (the more I save the more I can spend on beer and wine). Distance not really a factor, I don't mind a good drive.

That's definitely on the short list, cheers.

Thinking along the lines of setting off early for the Lake District area Saturday morning, then carry on to the Isle of Skye on Sunday. Reverse trip Monday and Tuesday, or maybe down the other side stopping in the Yorkshire Dales on the Monday night.
Due-able?

We stayed here last night...

http://www.thepriorycaerleon.co.uk/

Masses of different fish options on their menu. We stayed on a DB&B basis where you got 2 courses plus veg as part of the deal but could go 'off piste' and have what you wanted and pay the extra (cracking venison lick)

Service was excellent (reception, bar and restaurant); food was delic!!; bedroom a little dated but scrupulously clean and very quiet (ask for one out the back rather than at the front on the road).

We paid £100 for DB&B...and tbh they didn't charge us for the food choices where we went outside the 2 course menu. Vast selection of wine which ws sensibly priced.

Being based there you then have masses of options for what to do. Caerleon itself has huge Roman interest (the Museum is 50 yards up the road!). We went to Cyfarthfa Castle up in Merthyr Tydfil as I had never visited it before but you have Cardiff; Brecon Beacons; Big Pit; Caerphilly Castle etc etc

We will go back definately yes
Great recommendation, just got back smile

Talk about value for money! Lunch, dinner, bed and breakfast came to £220, that's less than I normally spend for a decent lunch for 2 up here.
