The missus and i are buying each other a weekend away for xmas.

Did this last year and stayed at the Carlyon Bay Hotel in Cornwall, which was very nice.

Any suggestions for nice hotels in the South Devon/Cornwall/Dorset/Somerset area where we will get a good deal in February? Many seem to have special offers on around that time as it is quiet (Carlyon upgraded us from a standard sea-view room to a deluxe suite as it was quiet, which was lovely!)

Budget is £300-£400 for the weekend including dinners.

Wife and I stayed here in South Somerset earlier this year for three nights:

We had the Alderman Room: excellent. So good, we asked about the bed linen and were told it had recently been renewed throughout all bedrooms, and they gave us the details so we have it at home now!

We used their restaurant one evening, which was good.

A place nearby for a really good meal is here:

They have accommodation too.

If you're into National Trust properties there's about five to visit nearby.

In Cornwall we've often fancied a stay in The Nare Hotel on the Roseland Peninsula. The details are here:

It has a good reputation.

They look a good shout. Like the sound of the Lord Poulette's menu.

Yeah doesnt surprise me, it was fairly average 10 yrs ago. Shame as the location is great.
Location is fantastic... but we only live 3 miles away. Not sure the missus would count that as a weekend away smile

We used to go there for Sunday Lunches quite often, and it was good for that. Never stayed there though.
