Not Lesbos, but there's a good sized UK ex-pat contingent in Vlicho on the island of Lefkas.
This PH'er knows a lot of them as his family have a villa and yacht there.
It maybe worth asking him for advice?

I'd rent a place over the winter first before thinking about upping sticks completely. I expect it looks a bit different when the rains lashing down, the ferries are cancelled due to bad weather, and there's naff all to do except count the goats.
I'd also have reservations about moving to a country with severe financial difficulties - if they "do a Cyprus" and subject the foreigners to a haircut whilst leaving the indigenous population relatively unscathed, you would be feeling a bit sick.
Stick a boat down there - you could live on it when it's sunny, go somewhere else when it's not, and avoid any nasty property taxes.
dam your common sense! all fair pointsI'd also have reservations about moving to a country with severe financial difficulties - if they "do a Cyprus" and subject the foreigners to a haircut whilst leaving the indigenous population relatively unscathed, you would be feeling a bit sick.
