Just looking at a few options for my summer hols (wife+2 kids).

Was going to drive but just looking at flight plus hire car options.

Heathrow to Luxemburg with BA looks very affordable compared with many Euro cities.

Plans are fairly flexible but thinking 5/6 nights in an Air BnB up to a few hours drive - don't mind where (France/Germany/Switzerland, possibly Italy I suppose).

Anyway the question(s) are -
Any reason not to fly to Luxemburg? Anyone with experience of the airport there.
I assume a hire car can be driven anywhere from there in Europe - I know I would need a Swiss vignette, possibly Crit Air plus whatever Germany use etc.

Any advice/tips welcome.

No reason not to, it's a low stress place to fly into, it's not a massive place like Heathrow or Schiphol.

(I grew up there and have flown in/out many times. Doing it this June...)

There shouldn't be any hire car issues afaik.
Thanks for that...pretty much what I was thinking in terms of it being a bit smaller/less stress with kids etc...

confused Are you thinking it's Liechtenstein??
Nope...definitely not. Doesn't look like they have an airport.

Two suggestions.

Coffee and cakes.

Bouillon is well worth a visit. Even stay overnight.
Thanks...I'll have a look at those.

Ok, you mentioned a few hours drive and Italy. thumbup

FWIW Skyscanner is good for this sort of thing. Search from your local airport on the dates you want and set the destination to "Anywhere".
Well yes, I realise france/Germany would be a bit more realistic (distance wise) than Italy, if flying into luxembourg.

And yep, I think Skyscanner was where Luxembourg popped up, having not considered it before. I'm travelling from Norwich so either driving or getting the train down to one of the London Airports.

I go roughly every couple of months and fly out of London City, might be worth looking at that as an option?
I'll have a look at London City...would certainly be on the better side of London for me, though the Elizabeth Line makes LHR pretty straight forward too.
