fantastic - should steal buyers scared of the crap speed 6 engine from tvr
I'll say so and have been saying it for a couple of years. The ls1/6 has huge power potential, parts availability in abundance and can be fixed in days if need be. God only knows why tvr didn't use that powerplant but back then it was still in the early stages of development. Long live the gen 3 smallblock Who needs a quad cam!

Jamie - shut lines are impecable for a hand built car
Maybe I'm being a bit unfair, although the colour of your car, Joust, does help hide them! .
I guess my real complaint is that the line of the doors and the bonnet look very kit-car. If you look at the shape of the door for example, compared to any production vehicle, or the way TVR have hidden them behind that signature curve, you'll see it actually looks quite crude. I'm sure it wouldn't take a huge amount of effort to hide these better and that's obviously what they've started to do with the STO.

Perhaps because they wanted to produce something individual? Perhaps it would be a boring world if all cars had the same engine?
Admittedly there have been reliability issues and most of these have been compounded by poor treatment of customers (the real issue). However, there's no denying that TVR have three engines that produce massive power, are lightweight and advanced in design and sound like nothing else. I wish people would stop comparing them - nobody suggests Ferrari should fit Chevvys to their cars!
Anyway, this forum is about Marcos. I know it sounds arrogant but I think Marcos has taken one big step towards being a car that I'd like to own!
What a fantastic looking car. I would have to agree with most on the TVR comparison. One of the reasons I loved my Chim 450 was the V8. I have always thought that when I replace it .. it probably would not be with a newer TVR, even though they are certainly fine cars.
The V8 is the same motor from the Corvette and Pontiac GTO (Holden Manaro). You just can not beat that engine for reliability. It may be an OHV, two valve per cylinder engine, but it works great, lots of power, reliable, and good fuel economy (well.. depends on your right foot.) Also, it may appear to be old design, but that engine is well refined.
TVR should worry about losing sales to this car. After all, it was the Chims and Cerbs (and the Griff) that help make TVR what it is now.

I think it's absolutelu bloody gorgeous, and I'd love one - and Joust - your TS500 (presume it's yours in those pics?) looks stunning - bet you're chewing all your nails off waiting for it
People who feel the need to overcomplicate their engine and add additional weight whilst making it more bulky according to GM Cracking engine the LS1/6 - some of even the 'mildly' tuned ones out here are demons on the strip, I'd love to see a blown one in the Marcos....

I think that looks great!!
Yes the colour is not exactly my taste but I think one painted in Joust's colours will look very nice indeed. Because of those side grills I think dark colours will be better for its profile.
It really looks as if Marcos have set their sights firmly on TVR's market with this car, I'll be amazed if they don't do well with this one!!
I agree with the argument that it is more ‘middle of the road’ than their usual stuff, unfortunately if we are being realistic that is what sells – it’s not as if the Chim and the Griff were ‘way out there’ and I believe it is well documented that they saved TVR’s fortunes…..I wonder if this will do the same for Marco’s? It will certainly be interesting to find out!!
Now where did I put those re-mortgage details?!

At this rate, the LS1 will be heading towards production records.
Corvettes, Monaros, Marcos, Z28's, Trans Ams and possibly the forthcoming Omega replacement.
Proves that GM knew what they were doing when they stuck with an all-alloy pushrod design. Keep it simple, keep it light, keep it relaiable and reap the power. It's all very well having triple underhand crapshafts driving multiple gear-driven thripple-vortex undulators but what counts is the power coming out the other end and reasonable running costs.

Hummm. it's ok in an ok'ish sort of way but lacks the sheer agression of some of the earlier Marcos shapes. Personally I think Mr McTaggart has raided the TVR design "cue bin" a tad too much here! So what have we got here? A blend of Griffith Speed 6 (nee Tuscan) front end with some TVR T350 lights, Sagaris side slashes and a touch of Morgan in the rump. Unlike the new Tuscan convertable it's not particulaly daring but it's ok. I expect it will attract buyers who liked the old Chimaera. Rich... p.s. does it still have the Marcos fixed seat/moving interior system?
The side vents are definitly over-the-top . . . DuoTone coloring does it . . . Small Block Chevy suits this wheels I Guess . . . Streamline the back into a nice round @ss and it's a winner.

I said "When I see Marcos' running up and down the track I xspect a huge 6 litre v8 . . . This indeed is a Chim / Griff replacement . . . assuming there is no other follow up."
Well, here you go. Small block is almost a 6 litre and it does the trick nicely!

well it seems that damian mctaggart has shot himself in the foot,
that car is a rip off of a TVR T350, Speed 12 (the origional) and a bit of Tamora, and shows that he does not have a creative bone in his body. I think he could of done with the TVR boys. the car is even worse in the flesh, A interior fron the 1920`s, doors that sound like rusty old gates, a mish mash of TVRs done in a real bad way, and they must be taking the p*** asking 40k for it, what a joke, i cant stop laughing!!!
The boys at TVR that he left behind must be cracking them selfs up at that joke of a car!
sorry i think ats a pile of crud!
