Mine is likely to be burried in rubble. But thats why I keep it in the car.

Also have 2 weeks of water and food at home.

I'm sure I met go go bag Shirley in Bangkok in 2008. Very good at table tennis...

I have several go bags permanently in the boot of my car and marked Pack 1/2/or 3:

Pack 1 - standard caving outfit, wellies, gloves, knee/elbow/arm protectors, helmets, harnesses, ropes, slings, krabs, pulleys, ropes etc for cave rescue.
Pack 2 - lightweight boiler suit, fleeces, boots, trousers, waterproofs, ground anchors, loads of extra rope etc for mountain/coastguard rescue.
Pack 3 - Change of clothes, mini stove, water, coffee, army ration packs, mini spades, mini picks, and most importantly assorted emergency Not Poodles.

Aye, its amazing stuff. I have a wallet made out of gaffer, I think there are competitions to see what can be made, and it holds together a whole load of mishaps. I gaffer taped a cable across a road (dry), lasted thee days or so.

But my company sent out a memo last week telling us how to drive in winter conditions and what kit we 'need' in the cat to cope with the inclement weather, absolute bks! If I can't keep my extremities warm at my age I might as well fooking give up! Bunch of tts!

No, I just have a bog roll in the boot, I learned a lesson after being stuck on the A1 for 5 hours for a road closure and having to leave a pair of socks in the hedgerow.

Uk is pretty easy going with disasters even then there are lots of flooding etc.


I've been without power or water here for 7 weeks, evacuated from home without notice etc. First few days of an entire city getting hammered are tough. Standing in line for water, bizzare feeling.

I keep handy rope, cable ties, multitool, decent knife, box of gloves, 2 two-way radios, cash, few tins of food, water filter, potassium permanganate, glycerin (last 2 for fire starting).
In the car lives change of clothes, spare shoes, more gloves, BASICS medical kit bag (more for first on scene stuff)
