You wouldn't write this on its own so why write it as part of a sentence? Now naff off!

When doing work for medium / large corporates, I get to hear some astounding bullst phrases being said.
The worst usually come from the "lean" consultant types...
My current recent pet hates are -
"Let's get together and have a Town Hall" (Apparently, this means have a small meeting - why they just can't say meeting is beyond me)
Accenture by any chance !?!?!The worst usually come from the "lean" consultant types...

^ No, people use it for all sorts, you'll be fine
It may be used for all sorts, but its original intention is the pre-orgasmic point of no return ....rhinochopig said:
A chap I worked with came away from Rolls-Royce in tears of laughter because as he leaving the meeting, the chair of the meeting said:
"we must touch cloth again soon"
We're terrible for it, most managers touch base and run things up the flagpole very often. I was once told, in no uncertain terms, to conduct a vis-a-vis with one of our suppliers and to run some ideas up the flagpole. Moving forward, touch base with Rolls about their solutions and, when back on site, chew the fat in the break out area."we must touch cloth again soon"
The break out area is a series of desks in the middle of the open-plan office where small meetings/sit-downs are held (that don't need a full room booking). Makes sense although the term "break out area" isn't my first choice.
I work in Oil and Gas and one of my particular favourites is "drilling down" - hear it a lot!
We also do quite a lot of "alignment" - no, not just on our rotating equipment - and the inevitable networking... The problem is that I laugh at people who say these things and then catch myself using them all the time, one of the horrors of being in the head office I think!
