Oh right, so neither of you want us non-Derbyshire Masons to have a great Christmas. Very nice :-P

Don't worry, someone will give you a card with his titles on. Has the Pro MoC not been for rehearsal yet?

Hello bretheren, and happy new year...

I'm in Australia for a year now, so had to give up my FM temporarily. Before I left the UK, my dad gave me a flip over ring. One side has the square and compass and one side is blank. He said to wear it as much as possible over here. So my question is, would you guys wear a ring or necklace or something similar that displays you are a member, to something like a job interview? Would you look on the candidate any differently?

Thanks in advance...

Personally I wouldn't wear anything overtly masonic to an interview. If I was interviewing and someone made a point of flaunting their membership I'd take a dim view, that's not what we joined for.

Took me a while to enjoy Chapter - not until I got to PS and was actively involved in the ceremony did it start to click.

Chapter can be a challenge both to the newly exalted companion and those trying to help him along. Just stick to it and don't let anyone try and put you off.

I agree about "clicking" when PS.

Next month is my first exaltation ceremony as MEZ; I'm trying to learn it at the moment. There's a lot to it!

I agree. I think it would make me uncomfortable really and I'd be very aware of the signs I'm displaying.

I was just checking and also curious in case it is common for people to openly display they are a mason.

Cheers

I wouldn't deliberately flaunt the fact, especially at an interview. Too close to pecuniary gain. However, I do have some masonic cufflinks that I particularly like and I wear them from time to time. People have commented on them a couple of times and I don't see a problem with this.
