I'm in. Just purchased myself one of these...

http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/to...

With one of these...

http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/to...

And some of these, mostly tobacco with a cherry and apple thrown in to mix things up a bit

http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/to...

£80 ish all in, or 10 packs of fags.

I'll try and keep this updated as to how I get on. Currently on 20 a day...at 31 it's time to knock it on the head.

The book? What book?

I'm guessing it's not "The Smoking Book by Lesley Stern"?

Is it the famous Allen Carr book?

Yes the famous Allen Carr book, he died of lung cancer so a fat lot of good that did him.
But to be fair, it is a great book and has helped many people quit tobacco.

I smoked for about 16 years and for about 10 have been 20-30 a day religiously.

I bought a nicocig kit which it appears is poor, it's one of the cigarette type ones and granted sometimes it's hard o get a drag out of it.

However.....I haven't smoked for a month now, I have lost a battery so now just have one I use the 11mg cartridges which each one is meant to be equivalent to 20 fags, I don't think it is at all, as apparently that would be 200 puffs.

Anyway it's working for me, I'd love a real one but I won't have one now, I am still very addicted to the nicotine and probably morE than anything the habit but it's has to be better than real ones.

I now don't stink, I am getting a sense of smell back, my teeth are going noticible whiter, I feel better and am saving about £40 a week which has to be a old thing.

Turned up this morning.

First impressions - it's very good. Comes with a sampler kit with 5 flavours (Tobacco, Gold Tobacco, Menthol, Cherry and Vanilla). The box is pretty neat, it doubles up as the charger. Comes with a USB lead too.

Cherry flavour is decent enough, hits the back of your throat like a Marlboro, for £15 I have to say it rocks. I'll replace it with a better kit, but so far it's not failed to deliver a consistent drag or anything.

Many thanks to the chap who posted up the discount code.

Ok so I've been using an e lites kit for a couple of weeks now and looking to step it up a notch, looking at the Totally wicked site I see two I like the look of the screwdriver and the 510 Titan tank kit both are around £40 are either likely to last a days use? The Titan seems to look like a normal cig more but does this mean it's going to be less powerfully? I also like to look of the one posted a couple of pages back, black with a clear cartridge but don't know what this model is could anyone help?

My Skycig should be arriving today. Another e-cig virgin going to give it a go. Not too fussed about quitting entirely (although that would be nice..) but cutting down on the real mccoy is the intention. Been meaning to give it a go having heard good things from smokers who have dropped from 10 - 20 a day to 2 -3 a day with the odd puff on an e-cig and hoping to adopt a similar approach.

Do you mean this?

It is a Totally Wicked Dual Coil Tank (DCT) system on a Totally Wicked Tornado eGO-C 1000 mAh battery.

Fantastic vape from these.

Give Totally Wicked a call, tell them you want a DCT set-up, they will sort you out. There is a video on their site about how to fill them etc.

I spent about 90 quid on my first order, but I have my costs down to less than £5 a week now.

Here is a picture of one of my Visions on an 18650 battery holder. 18650 batteries last two days easy.

This is the one I liked the look of but they both look similar. I take it the clear body is so you can see fluid level?

I smoked 20 a day from the age of 16 (thats 44 years ago!!!) and tried to give up many times in my forties/fifties. As a dedicated scuba diver it was becoming obvious that bunged up sinusis and coughy lungs are an incident in the making and I was by then not really enjoying the taste but smoking for the nicotine. I came across e-cigs 4 years ago and bought the only type then available which was the cigarette lookalike. I have not smoked a real cigarette since the first day I used it. Needless to say I very quickly moved on to a much more powerfull device that gave reliable and day long vapour. Back then you had to make your own vapemonsters, so much fun with electrical circuits, lithium batteries and home anodising of alluminium tubes.
I still use my home made powerpacks that resemble the now purchasable Screwdriver and the big 18650 lithium batteries go 2/3 days before recharge.
So why not give it up alltogether? Well there is a fair amount of research that indicates some of us find nicotine important to good stable mental health (well that's what Mrs Indi Pearl says) and since it is neither carcinogenic or health damaging in any other way why not continue. After all we all like flavours on a regular basis and a few puffs of tasty vapour every so often is better than snacks, chocs, biscuits, etc and no risk of becoming a porker!

Yes they are clear so you can see the level, if you look closely you will see two small wicks near the top, these feed the atomiser with liquid, so if your liquid level is a bit low, you need to tilt the thing now and again to keep the wicks wet, not a problem.

They are called: Vision eGo Clearomizer 2.1 - 2.4 Ohm (Clear)

You need to ensure you get the low resistance (2.1 -2.4 Ohms) version, the high resistance is for higher voltage set-ups. All normal vaping batteries are 3.7v Li-ion, some people buy/make higher voltage mods and they use the higher resistance versions. Sounds complicated but it's not really, just stick with standard batteries and low resistance cartomisers.

You can get them from here:

http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?categ...

or here:

http://www.ecigwizard.com/shop/en/cartomisers/402-...

You will also need a couple of eGO Tornado batteries and a USB charger.

You simply unscrew the mouthpiece and top up from your juice bottle.

They are a touch expensive at over 5 quid each but they are VERY popular in the vaping community.

Like all atomisers/cartomisers, they are disposable items but I get a couple of weeks out of them, some people get longer by washing them out every few days.

The particular battery you can see in my pic is an 18650 battery holder (and 18650 battery of course) from Health Cabin:

http://www.healthcabin.net/index.php?main_page=pro...

Health Cabin are in China and delivery is at least ten days. They sell my favourite juice: Dekang Apple, tastes great in a Vision.

Waspy, I have the ego-T system, but really like the look of that tank and mouthpiece. Do you know if they would fit on the ego-T batteries that I have?

Encouraging stuff and thanks for the input. This might prove the catalyst to break the habit or certainly reduce it.

I smiled at the description of the homemade kit required a few years ago to get a good vape, can imagine it being very underground then! smile

Also, the weight thing is one of the big advantages of the e-cigs. I did actually give up cigs one, for 4 years. I put on almost 1 stone in 6 months as I found I was finishing a meal, and rather than having a cigarette as a full stop to the meal, I was picking at biscuits and snacks instead.

Not an issue with the e-cigs.
