I sympathise with the OP but have a tale from the other perspective. I once had a cabby park his cab on a daily basis immediately in front of my house gate for several days running. As I was in the middle of renovations that required the delivery of copious quantities of building materials (planks of wood, sheets of wallboard and so on) I left a very politely worded note on his windscreen requesting that he park a little further down the road, or at least not directly in front of my gate to allow unrestricted access. He responded with a very curt note stating that it was public road and he would park wherever he bloody well liked (it transpired he was not a local and was merely “storing the cab there between shifts because he couldn’t park outside his house as he lived on a one way street - on the other side of town…). The note writing escalated over the next four days (he never seemed to park or pick up when I was home) with him becoming more and more hostile and abusive and me explaining politely in words of one syllable that his cab parked where it was causing tradesmen grief and forcing trucks to double park to offload stuff. I guess he eventually thought discretion was the better part of valour when, in my final note, I stated that I could not be held responsible if a workman carrying a heavy load of timber were to accidentally clip his cab on the way past….
He now parks round the corner in a spot that is not in front of any house that he could have been using right from the start… Funnily enough, now that the renovations are finished I'd have no objection to him parking out front (apart from the fact that he was a tt...

Not really another perspective though is it. Where did the OP state that he blocked access to a drive, oh yeah thats right he didn't. Thanks for the info anyway but doesn't really add to the debate. He now parks round the corner in a spot that is not in front of any house that he could have been using right from the start… Funnily enough, now that the renovations are finished I'd have no objection to him parking out front (apart from the fact that he was a tt...

So from this excerpt of your post it actually sounds like he was parked legally but inconveniently, seeing as you would be happy for him to park out front now the renovations are finished. Was he actually just making hard for the lorries to get past, perhaps the builders need better drivers.Funnily enough, now that the renovations are finished I'd have no objection to him parking out front(apart from the fact that he was a tt...
Perhaps I am just feeling belligerent this morning, it comes from having to drive thorugh Carterton.
Now bottom of Google's first page on a search for "Free weekend parking Sevenoaks".
If only a few more people knew that Soleoak Drive is an excellent place to park for free on Saturdays and Sundays. Indeed, parking is free all weekend in Soleoak Drive Sevenoaks.
Shame about the narky resident though...

Haven't you just described all charity ever? I take a book to a charity shop so that some person might read it maybe sometime and then someone else might be able to use the £5 from the sale for some water in africa maybe but i'll never meet them? It's the same principle. Except this is slightly more fun.
