Just walked the dog in what I thought was a break in the rain. It pissed down, although it was like a warm shower

Another week or so of pleasant weather, but nothing hot. The centre of the high pressure stays west of Ireland, bringing in cooler air from the North Sea for the next week.

Difficult to say - there are some tentative signs of a breakdown of the high pressure, from the north (never pleasant). At this stage I'd err with a forecast of this not entirely unpleasant weather, but it's far from certain.
