Boy, have I!

Burnt the tip of my finger on the oven last week. Here's a picture, you might be able to make the burn out.

Was a stinger.

Its a damn site more serious than people make out, it hurts like you cannot believe, and has more chance than virtually any other injury of going septic, and that can lead to further problems, hence its best to air on the side of caution.
And no, im not a thumn wrestler, im in property developement
I don't think anyone is doubting the severity of trauma to flesh that a burn can create.

Its just that you haven't really articulated the relationship between what sounds like a relatively benign sounding cause and the resultant nasty sounding injury mein dicky old chum.

Hence picture of wound 'custard test' requests.

I'm going to guess at four days in 20 years, one of which was for a rugby match in 1991.

They're usually very satisfied with the finger. I use it to direct traffic.

I got knocked off my bike on the way to work once. I took a bit of "time off" while the ambulance patched me up at the side of the road and then walked the rest of the way. Days off with illness? What's that?

Oh and a burnt thumb? fking gheyer! laugh

You gayyer, I have chopped a section off the end of one thumb enough that a trip to casualty was required and I was seriously light headed from shock. I have also crushed the other behind a tonne and a bit coil of steel, pulling it out with no sensation then shaking your hand seeing the thumb of the glove flap is a disconcerting fortunately no serious damage I just have one thumb larger than the other. Both of these injuries required the comedy thumb bandage neither stopped me working for long or stopped me driving or rolling cigarettes.

I'm intrigued - how much thumb can you chop off without requiring a trip to A&E? biggrin

Depends how hard you are! I'd personally ignore anything less than an inch.

Yes about 3 square inches on the inside of my right arm. From the exhaust manifold of a 1916 racing car, I was on my way to Ireland (about a 500mile trip). I did a lot of swearing, then fixed the car and carried on. I still have the mark and yes it hurt like hell!

But until now I have never thought the need to tell the PH horde about it.
Because:
1. Its not much of a story.
2. After Emsman its hardly even a burn!
3. No one gives a toss!

I was off school for 4 weeks with a broken arm. I think the most I've had off work was a week with a chest infection.

Quick rule of thumb, anything that doesn’t hit the bone and its not worth worrying the pros about, anything that goes through to the bone (or even through the bone) the medical people seem to like the idea that you take some antibiotics save you getting a bone infection.

(My experience in this field 2 good scars on right hand, 1 scar and a missing finger tip on my left hand ((just above the 3rd joint) don’t juggle power tools folks it can bring tears to your eyes)).

So far in my life I have managed to avoid getting any first degree ironing related injuries, and apart from flu (proper flu) about 10 years ago resulting in 2 days off work, I can not think of another instance of sickness since childhood.

I broke my elbow when I was seven. I didn't get a single day off, as I broke it on a Saturday.

I sink vee are kindred spirits you and Ich, alzough obviously my pain was far greater.
don't take the piss, I might go off in a huff

(and come back tomorrow to carry on being a tt)
Yeah soz, I did wonder if that one was a bit close to the bone.... but then posted it anyway

Didn't mean to offend (Emsman) whistle
If you offended me it would be first time in nearly 36 years!!!
For those that dont know, i made a bit of an error on one of my few posts here in this thread. I tried to make a funny about Emsman, whilst pretending to use the voice of Luftwaffe.

In my defence I would say I mean, I'm new and it's bloody strange. Having read the terms and conditions carefully, I later added that, ok, I need to learn my way a little more.

The end result was not pleasant, alothough i guess sometimes quite humerous- albeit from a certain angle.

So, how does one make ammends?

A public apology must made in the relevant forum, so here goes again- To the one affected, I apologise, profoundly.

I hope to call in from time to time, and will add an occasional comment when i feel the need.

I joined up here for a good laugh- I didn't realize it was full of Trekkies and perverts! Big error of judgement.

Points taken on board.

Guess I will just have to learn to avoid certain threads

Interesting that it's easy for everyone here to sit and take the pee at the new boy, yet the thread in question has been closed by the very people that run the site.

I've made my apologies, matter how closed???

Furthermore, I have made an apology, and really don't wish to cause offence.
and lets hope this gets some replies, else someon just opened themself up for some ridicule.
Are you related to the OP you wet cabbage.
