The PH Cigar Thread
Discussion
It's been a bit quiet in here...
From Malta
Prices have gone crazy, as others have commented.
10 Partagas Mille Fleurs - 5" x 42 gauge
10 Oliva Serie O Robusto - 5" x 50 gauge
10 Oliva Serie O Double Toro - 6" x 60 gauge
Total just over £200.00
There was some miscommunication with my 'agent', as clearly, for these prices, I should have got another 20 cigars to take advantage of the duty free limit of 50.

And, if for some reason you don't like Mondays,
the next event after the 26th is on 6th October.

Nick Perdomo Jr at JJ Fox Monday
Dignitaries present included Nick Perdomo himself (with his wife) and the Nicaraguan Ambassadress to Britain whom I have met at previous events featuring Nicaraguan cigars.
The Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Maduro Super Toro
Length: 6"
Gauge: 60
A good sized cigar with a good, even burn, easy draw and, for a new world cigar, a considerable amount of character.
For under £25 it's a pretty good cigar for the money, especially if you enjoy new world cigars.
Paired with Glenfarclas 12yo, 15yo and the 105 (60%) Cask Strength
The most dangerous of which would, perhaps surprisingly, be the 12 year old, very easy drinking.

Just restocked the humidor.
Very nice Paul.Keep it safe, there's probably the cost of a small car in there .
I was actually really lucky, a friend was in Portugal and the humidor at the airport was well-stocked. I did a Facetime video call with him and had him pick up 25 for me. There seems to be a significant worldwide shortage, so I was surprised, and very pleased...
Another JJ Fox event (on the 6th as above)
The Monticristo No. 1
Length: 6 1/2"
Guage: 42
More or less (more actually) a No. 4 with some extra length for a few 'pennies' more.
First time I have smoked one of these. Followed with a No. 4 to stretch to the end of the event.
Paired with Eminente Cuban rum.
Very different from any rum I have tried before, as best as my memory serves.
Extraordinarily light, tasty, yet lacking the fire of most rums.
There were also some very nice watches from Cuervo y Sobrinos being displayed (new to Fox's shop).
Cuban brand, Swiss made. Quick release strap for those that are interested in that sort of thing.
Enjoyable evening as always.

Any plans to attend the Cohiba Talisman evening on the 13th, GB?

£325.00 for a cigar and dinner? And the cigar comes first.Any plans to attend the Cohiba Talisman evening on the 13th, GB?
Not having a go at Fox's, but despite the experts on hand to talk cigars, cognac and food, it isn't my personal idea of value for money.
In any case, that one has now sold out too.
There will be one or two of their more 'normal' events come November that I will be booking.

It would probably look a lot more reasonable to someone who would normally spend £180.00+ on a single cigar.
Sadly, I am not one of those people.
