Paranormal experiences
Discussion
Ok, I have a slightly strange one here.
I have a set of drawers at the side of my bed like this. The dogs sleep on their bed just in front of them, next to my side of the bed.
Every now and then over the last few months the I've woken up on a morning to find the bottom drawer wide open, but contents unmoved. Odd, but I didn't give it much thought. I thought perhaps the dogs may have knocked them, or caught it and opened some how.
A few weeks ago, I woke up the find the entire drawer removed from the set and left about 2ft away on the floor, again contents unmoved. I thought maybe one of us is sleep walking and doing this during the night?
A few days ago the sound of the drawers banging / rattling woke me up. I turned over to check out the sound and the bottom drawer was again pulled out and deposited on the floor, a good 4ft away from the set. The weird thing is it woke both me and my partner up (but not baby or either of the dogs). The dogs sleep right in front of these drawers and somehow it ended up the other side of their bed. The contents were again unmoved inside the drawer.
I don't know what's causing it, it's only ever the same bottom drawer and I had convinced myself somehow the dogs had been doing it, but the last time when it woke us both made me have a re-think.
Any idea's on how this is happening, or do I have a haunted drawer?

If this is genuinely happening then rig up a cheap gopro and movement sensor and find out what's happening. I have a set of drawers at the side of my bed like this. The dogs sleep on their bed just in front of them, next to my side of the bed.

It would be a clever dog to remove a drawer ( presumably with its teeth) and move it a couple of feet without disturbing the contents. What sort of dogs are we talking about, by the way?
Two Staffies. The one is old an lazy but the other is quite alert and often runs around barking at sh*t during the night, which is one of the things I find odd is that the drawer thing didn't stir her.The camera trick might be a good idea, but do I really want to know?

Can anybody recommend a camera that would function in the dark and not cost an absurd amount of money?

I am not in any way saying this avenue of reasoning supports any paranormal or godly theories, however there is so so much we don't know about everything.
We do not understand matter, space, time or gravity for a start. More importantly for this thread, we do not understand consciousness or brain power as I have explained in detail previously. Dismissing crackpot theories is one thing, but dismissing them without fully understanding what is known so far, our current recent theories and how close these get to the crackpot theories is another.
We have an understanding of all those things, that we can model and predict behavior on. To say we don't understand it is false. We do not understand matter, space, time or gravity for a start. We have a theory that c96% of everything in the unverse is made of dark matter and dark energy, for which we have no evidence other than knowing our current calculations don't work.
Nothing in the universe moves the right way. The universe doesn't behave correctly. Objects are moving too quickly, the expansion of the universe is inexplicably increasing. Nothing is bloody well working how it should and we as of yet have no idea why.
This does not mea casper the friendly ghost is real, or I can read you thoughts, or aliens bummed me last night.
But it does mean I am humble enought o realise we know the square root of F.A. about everything
Can a ghost kill you?
If so, would you then become a ghost?
Also, re the drawer event above.....many years ago my next door neighbour was often finding the lower drawer of a chest of drawers in her bedroom had been opened during the night and various undergarments strewn across the floor.
Went on for a few months and she was a bit perturbed to say the least. Turns out my cat, who was a bit of a character, was entering her house via the cat flap going upstairs to her rooom, pulling open the drawer and pulling out all her pants.
She knew this as she finally caught the blighter in the act one night. Her cat, who was very scared of mine, was sleeping on her bed at the time. Apparently my boy just turned around and sauntered off back down the stairs.
At the time I took this with a bit of a pinch of salt as I didn't believe he could pull open a heavy drawer, even though he was quite a big cat.
However, a few weeks later I had to take him to the vet. After the examination he jumped to the floor and whilst I and vet were chatting proceeded to open the bottom drawer of a heavy cabinet and then started to empty it of its contents - various syringes in their packaging etc. Vet was highly amused. Cat never did it in his own house, how he had learnt this trick and why he did it - no idea as being a cat he couldn't really speak.
So...drawer opening, clothes strewn around, owner waking to find it happened, their own pet slept through it, happened repeatedly over a few months, at night. Must have been a ghost then!!
Clearly I'm not suggesting my cat is messing with other's drawers (ooh-er!) although since he is now dead maybe he's doing it as a ghhhhooooosssttt! But the point is there was an explanation for my neighbour's strange goings on - just not one that was immediately obvious.

Type 'dog opening drawer' into YouTube.See also 'dog loading dishwasher' and helper/service dogs.
Dogs are very smart.

Not sure what point you're trying to make here. our knowledge is incomplete in a number of areas (note that this is different from your statement that "we know the square root of F.A. about everything", which is clearly not the case). In areas where knowledge is incomplete we usually have theories which have been developed which can be used to make observable predictions. When these theories are backed up for observable / measurable / repeatable evidence, they become accepted. If not then we look for a new theory which better describes what we've found and incrementally our knowledge advances. Note the difference between this approach and just saying 'I believe i ghosts'.We have a theory that c96% of everything in the unverse is made of dark matter and dark energy, for which we have no evidence other than knowing our current calculations don't work.

To use current knowledge gaps to infer that 'the paranormal' could be true is no better than creationists stating that there are gaps in the fossil record, therefore a creator. Extraordinary claims need backing with extraordinary evidence.
