The official 2014 warm sunshine and BBQ thread...

The centre of the low pressure is now passing over the Midlands. To be honest, generally speaking, Bertha is a bit of a dud. There are some pretty spectacular storms around, but the wind and rain isn't quite what was feared.
I hope this is true - got that ferry crossing tonight, but on current information there's nothing to fear later.

Met office blog with rain and wind stats. Clearly Bertha is impacting some areas more than others.
Quite a nice day here...

Washout today at Santa pod those that hadn't already left did so as the 1 o'clock thunder and light show arrived!
one of those intense fronts full of heavy precip looking at the rain radar, now sunny in Wellingborough, typical!
Which as per the last few weeks, split and didn't hit us, then rejoined on the other side one of those intense fronts full of heavy precip looking at the rain radar, now sunny in Wellingborough, typical!

Here at Le Mans it was 7C this morning and is already down to 15C this evening. We decided to eat indoors! I don't see the BBQ getting much more use unless we have an Indian summer.
2.1oC was recorded in West Berks this morning. We had quite a few meals indoors in our corner of Sarthe - brrrrrrr. We went to look at the lights in Le Mans on Tuesday night. The cathedral was good, but the rest was a bit meh.
