Puggit's on holiday so the forecasts here could be a bit "Michael Fish" till he returns.

BTW it's wet in Surrey.
Still here - I'm in the boring gap between the Midlands and London frown No wind, just constant drizzle.

The centre of the low pressure is now passing over the Midlands. To be honest, generally speaking, Bertha is a bit of a dud. There are some pretty spectacular storms around, but the wind and rain isn't quite what was feared.

I hope this is true - got that ferry crossing tonight, but on current information there's nothing to fear later.

Met office blog with rain and wind stats. Clearly Bertha is impacting some areas more than others.

Quite a nice day here...

Washout today at Santa pod frown those that hadn't already left did so as the 1 o'clock thunder and light show arrived!
one of those intense fronts full of heavy precip looking at the rain radar, now sunny in Wellingborough, typical!
Which as per the last few weeks, split and didn't hit us, then rejoined on the other side irked

Not been to bad a day in Horsham, had some gusty winds and a few heavy showers but when the sun is out it's nice and warm smile

Car is packed, we are off to my parents for dinner soon and then plan to leave for Newhaven at about 8pm for our ferry to Dieppe. smile

I'm back - 8oC as the ferry landed at Portsmouth this morning. WTF?!

France wasn't brilliant, we were near Tours and it was merely 20oC during the day. But if the wind was off and it was sunny the sun was still burning hot smile

BH Monday looking miserable, but Sunday could be quite nice smile

Here at Le Mans it was 7C this morning and is already down to 15C this evening. We decided to eat indoors! I don't see the BBQ getting much more use unless we have an Indian summer.
2.1oC was recorded in West Berks this morning.

We had quite a few meals indoors in our corner of Sarthe - brrrrrrr. We went to look at the lights in Le Mans on Tuesday night. The cathedral was good, but the rest was a bit meh.

Growing consensus in the models that Sept will start markedly different to August. High pressure on the horizon from next weekend...

However tropical depression 4 has formed near the Caribbean and is predicted to 'do a Bertha'...

Been drinking Bertie? wink

Weekend is looking better down South - as the models firm up the return of summer, they are pushing the weekend low further north. Can't rule out some rain, but it's light showers rather than anything terrible.

Next week is beginning to look like high 20s...

Hold on, Nathan Rao says Cristobal is on the way... http://www.express.co.uk/news/nature/503569/UK-wea...

Yet, the NHC say it's heading to Iceland (so do the charts). http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/graphics_at4.shtml?5-daynl...
