Afternoon all,
Bit of a hijack, but my next door neighbour and good friend is signed up on match and is finding it really hard to meet anyone genuine. She's lovely, bubbly, very easy on the eye, intelligent and looking for a decent chap 39-49 apparently.
Whilst being mindful of both your use of "bubbly" and a face only pic (angles can hide multitudes of sins as we know), I feel safe in saying that she looks lovely and were I looking, be very much on my radar, 2 hour drive and 7-17 year age gap notwithstanding. As long as you aren't a freak or weirdo. Of course you are all company directors with goatees...........
Balls. For those using online dating sites I just wonder how much honesty/importance is attached to the age range in profiles.
From the sites I've looked at most women have 40 or at the most 45 as the oldest age man they are looking for. So as a man if you are over these ages do you put a lower age than you are on your profile? Reply to the woman saying you are younger than you are if she asks? Say that age is just a state of mine and you feel suitable for her?
Lying about your age might be OK if you're just want a casual relationship but hardly the good basis if you're looking for something long term.

Depends what you're confident you can get away with. I'd tell the truth and include a recent photo. Use one where you're holding up today's newspaper and you can make a joke about it. So many men use photos which are easily ten years out of date that it gets rather tedious.
