I think for a spoon, overstir is much more dangerous, given the hot nature of the beverage nobody wants it overstiring right out of the cup.

If done well and with a modicum of sympathy I have no real issues with them.

There are a lot of shoddy ones around though with wrong stem lengths, incorrect bowl diameter etc. You just need to make sure that the donor spoon is correctly specified and many wouldn't know the difference at a glance.
However its the buffoons who turn up at spoon meets with their replicas and try to convince folk its the real thing, and trying to demonstrate they're hung like a viking warrior's stallion, I for one have the biggest problem with. Brings shame to the spoon clubs in question, and takes the limelight away from the real thing.

A plastic spoon wrapped in tin foil, will never ever pass as a real Ikea schkpooonkanslep.

Exactly, hence my dislike of replicas based on plastic spoons. Some people, what are they like ay? rofl

Surely this thread violates the Misuse of Teaspoons Act 1923?

My spoon lacky just attempted your intricate method of stirring my tea. Result: Tea everywhere and a nasty burn to boot. We’ve just had to have him put down, as a burnt tea stirrer is no use to anyone, meaning we’ll have to have our tea unstirred for the foreseeable future until after the court case.

Thanks. Thanks a lot.

Have any of you had experience in getting your spoons Teamapped?

My current set is only able to support 7 cups/hr but I have been told for £299 I can get an instant increase of up to 11 cups/hr.

If I combine it with a larger bore mug, i'm told 15/hr is achievable!

I think Garlick should look into bringing out PH Tips - the tea for Petrolheads biggrin

But as pointed out earlier this is only for experienced stirrers and should only be attempted in a controlled environment.

A perfect example of spoon snobbery. If that is all someone can afford who are they really hurting in the end?

Who are you to judge?

Too quickly people are mapping their tea spoons thinking they will get better performance...yaddy yadda. The truth is if you hone your skills, maybe take my advanced training course you will quickly realise that don't need to spend hundreds of pounds on upgrades.

Due to a slight affair i lost my beloved collection of tea-spoons to the EX in the divorce and am now stuck with nothing more than a biro to stir tea.

I'm hoping to get back into the fold after xmas with this little beauty, i know it is a massive step down from the normal classics but i feel porcelain give an enthusiast the best mix of budget, handle temprature and stirring ability. Where else could you find a spoon with the ability to stir all day and yet stay comfortable to hold for that price. I know what some of you might be thinking (a few months ago i would have agreed) but now i find myself needing a spoon this has proved to be the best all rounder.
I thought that was advert wizardry again biggrin

I never let the staff wear shoes in the house nono

If you need a new spoonista though I can highly recommend a few, unfortunately the recession has hit a friend of mine and he had to let them go as he couldn't justify separate staff for tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

All I'm suggesting is they should be proud of their plastic spoon until they've quickly climbed the corporate ladder and become a powerfully built company director, then they can go to Ikea and spend their hard earned millions, cheesh, be proud of any humble beginnings, we've all been there.

Always a bad idea in my experience and will have a negligable affect. At least you aren't considering chipping your mug...

Frankly, the fact that you lot think you even need a teaspoon in the first place, speaks volumes.

There's only one way to drink tea, and it's certainly not sullied with sugar.

I bet some of you have little bowls for ketchup, don't you?
